Bec is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia, and is undertaking the clinical registrar program, supervised by Dr Meg Scanlan and Dr Mandy Matthewson, to obtain her endorsement in the area of Clinical Psychology.

Bec is passionate about working with people experiencing problems with eating and body image. She is particularly interested in helping people find a balanced and healthy relationship with themselves, their bodies, food and movement.  Bec also works with people who are experiencing difficulties with mood, anxiety, stress and relationships with others.

Bec believes that therapy provides an opportunity for positive change through understanding and examining our experiences, emotions and behaviours. Bec places a strong emphasis on the importance of the therapeutic relationship, built on openness, nurturance, gentle challenging, safety and respect. She uses evidence-based models to provide a framework to suit each individual client’s needs.

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy – Enhanced (CBT-E)
  • Health at Every Size (HAES) and Non-dieting approaches such as Intuitive Eating
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy informed approaches (DBT)
  • Mindfulness therapies

Outside of work, Bec enjoys spending time camping, hiking, reading and boxing.
